ABOUT KENDRA THORNTON

For the past decade, Kendra Thornton has appeared on television stations across the country to offer travel tips and deals to millions of people every year. She makes monthly appearances on WGN-TV in Chicago and regular appearances on national and regional news programs including Fox News Channel, CNN, The Nate Berkus Show, Fine Living Network, The Tyra Banks Show and many more. A recognized authority on travel, she’s been quoted frequently on travel trends and issues in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today and more. 

Since 2005, Kendra has owned her own travel PR consulting business where she has worked with the most distinguished brands in online travel from Kayak to Expedia.  Prior to starting her own business, Kendra was the Director of Corporate Communications at Orbitz.com, one of the nation’s largest travel agencies. In this role, Ms. Thornton was responsible for the company’s external communications and acted as print and TV spokesperson to extend the company’s brand authority in leisure and business travel.  

Kendra grew up in the travel industry with parents who founded and still own Royal Travel & Tours, the largest travel agency chain in north central Illinois. The family business afforded her the opportunity to travel the world and experience first-hand the evolution of the industry for more than 35 years.  Kendra currently works for the family business in the position of Vice President, New Business Development and Marketing.
